Lift, Carry, and Drop

How Does Moving Ice Shape the Land?
The huge sheets of ice you se here are like giant bulldozer. They are moving and can move rocks and sediment. These huge moving sheets of iceare glaciers. To know how glaciers can move, you have to understand how they form. Some glaciers form in valleys high up in the mountains. Others form near the poles. Glaciers form when more snow fall in the winter than melts in the summer. Over time the snow get deeper and deeper.Newly fallen snow os fluffy because it has air trapped inside. As snow on top squezze the snow at the bottom into a solid mass of ice. When the ice gets to be about 100 meters thick, it can move. The weight above makes the ice at the bottom like a superthick syrup. They whole sheet of ice then moves downhill.
SOME FACTS ABOUT GLACIERS :D
 Valley Glaciers form in
                                         high mountain valley,
                                         where it is cold because
                                         of the elevation.
Continental glaciar form near the poles, where it is cold because of the latitude.
When a glacier reaches the edge of a continent, ot breacks off into icebergs
